Vincentian CARES Presents Polk County’s First Annual 5K Fundraiser Event!

The First Annual Vincentian CARES Polk 5K Fundraiser will support the Polk County Rapid Re-housing (RRH) Programs as well as the Polk County Homelessness Prevention Services Programs. The event, which will include: Presentation of Colors, Pledge of Allegiance, Invocation, “State of the Agency” update, Testimonials, 5K walk/run/ride around Lake Hollingsworth, silent auction, food, and fellowship, brings awareness to and raises funds for the solutions-based programs of Vincentian CARES that address the devastating impact homelessness and poverty have on people.

Supporting the 2027 Polk Fundraiser 5K Campaign is an investment in the lives of the US Veterans, families with children, and individuals who enter the doors of Vincentian CARES seeking a new chance on life. Vincentian CARES programs are housing focused and provide wrap around support to ensure stability and long-term self-sufficiency. Vincentian CARES provides Intensive Housing Focused Case Management, emergency housing assistance, Rapid Re-Housing, Prevention, and Diversion assistance, emergency supplies, household items, and many other supports to help neighbors thrive.

Vincentian CARES Polk County Supportive Services for Veteran Families and the Rapid Re-Houisng Programs highlight our FY 2026 outcomes:

• Vincentian CARES began providing services in Polk County in 2016 and since that time:
• We have housed more than 1935 Veteran Households
• We have housed more than 1223 non-veteran households
• Provided services to more than 4381 individuals
• We have maintained the fastest average in the nation for days from homeless to housing at 19 days
• 86% of those served in Polk, stay housed

Additionally, Vincentian CARES Polk meets clients where they are; conducting outreach throughout the rural areas in the woods, on the streets, and wherever they might be found. We provide life-sustaining resources that improve access to employment, health, and financial stability.
